Here we are, Cool Bus Cool Smile! (eng)

5 Bachelor Economics students of Thammasat University and 1 Bachelor Liberal Art BA student who share one mutual ambition in making positive changes to the society they are living in. They formed up a climate cool project named ‘Cool Bus Cool Smile’.

Cool Bus Cool Smile project is supported by the collaboration of British Council, British Embassy Bangkok, A DAY Magazine (the most popular teenagers magazine in Thailand) and Youth Venture Thailand.

It all started with our concerning of the big issue our world is facing with right now,  Climate Change. We want to support the young generations in participating in coming up with the new ideas of how to heal the environment and make our world a better place for us all to live.

Our projects aim to raise awareness to the people in the society of the transportation problem in Bangkok in which it leads to Air Pollution – one of the factors of Climate Change – and to support the society to transport by public transportation instead of their own cars. By this, we hold a competition among teenagers to create and design a new look for buses under the topic of “Climate Change : Convincing people to use buses more”. One who can create the best design and most relevant to the topic will be the winner and his/her design will be practically painted on the bus. We considerably hope that by seeing our buses running around the street will promote and inspire more people to take more attention and take part in the serious problem of Climate Change.

By publicizing our project, we used the space on the newspaper and made a public relations on the radio. Along with promoting on such event like Red Bull’s. This Red Bull event supported young generations with good ideas to make them come real. We had to introduce about our projects and our aims in public then the audiences would decide and vote for the team one’s interested in. Which team got the highest vote would win the amount of money to support their project more.

Moreover, we will hold our own event. In this event, we will announce to the media of the winner and make the first appearance of our buses which will be painted already on that day.

We believe that if you’re not one part of the solution then you’re part of the problem itself because we’re all connected. It doesn’t concern of  who you are or where you from, it’s about what have you done to this world you’re living in?
